The move is part of a larger effort to unify the brand to the public launch of Google +, the search giant's social initiatives. Blogger and Picasa are not going away, of course - they are two of the most popular Google products. Instead, according to two sources familiar with the matter, Google intends to rename Picasa "Google Photos" and Blogger will be "Google Blogs." Some of Google's other brands may be affected, although our sources make it clear that YouTube will not name.

Close the technology giants Google Video, failed web video service in May. This step is not without precedent; Google acquired JotSpot in 2006 and his name as a Google Site in 2008. In 2007, Google acquired GrandCentral VOIP platform and relaunched as Google Voice in 2009.

Picasa and Google's acquisition of Blogger as well, although both companies have become part of the Google empire for much longer. Picasa was acquired in 2004 and Blogger (co-founded by Evan Williams of Twitter) was acquired in 2003 and is one of the 10 most visited websites in the world. Despite the rebranding can interfere with some existing customers, also gives Google the ability to fully integrate the two services to Google +.

Transition from Picasa and Blogger to Google Images and Google Blog will happen "within a month to month and a half," we've been told. Date in line with the public launch of Google + possibility.the public debut of Google + on or before July 31. Date is important because these days all private Google Profile will be deleted.

We believe Google does not want to have a personal profile after the public launch of Google +. Instead, the company is likely to encourage users who want more privacy to use Circle to pastor a group of their friends.

Brand integration efforts will be the largest in company history - it has never replaced a large property such as Blogger. Creation of the popular blogging service that has received a lot of additional new love. In March, Google announced that Blogger will receive a major overhaul. We doubt many people expected the overhaul will include the rebranding, though.

Makes sense for Google + Blogger and Picasa - both are social products that improve as more people use it. It's important to note that Google + already has photo features, products that we believe in using technology Picasa. It's also important to note that Google + 's features Picasa photo does not have any brand.
